Last year had the reds fly low over my house i was having a BBQ at the time, scared the kids. Someone in the village organized it, they will do a fly past if they are in your area and it is free

funny you sould say that ,iirc diesel is what they use to make the smoke , with various dyes in to get the red,white and blue

I would assume that the diesel is injected into the jet exhaust such that it is not completely burnt.

One some aircraft they use smoke generators mounted onto the weapon hardpoints (I think these are nicknamed 'smokewinders' due to them looking similar to Sidewinder missiles )

the smoke trails are made be injecting diesel into the exhaust of the jet turbine in a similar way to the way the afterburners work. it dosn't do them much good tho becuase the vanes in the engine get covered in slime from the unburnt diesel.

i bet nobody here knows how they clean them??
