Once a Skoda owner always a........

Flanno post about trade in values reminded me of my experience of changing car. I am on my 3rd Skoda, and both times I changed car I found that the only dealers willing to give anything like a realistic trade in value for my Skoda was the Skoda dealer. When I traded my first Felicia I was interested in the then newly face lifted Seat Ibiza. None of the Seat dealers wanted to touch the Skoda (as shown by the insulting offers (ie

It's like that wherever you go. If you tried to trade in a Civic Type-R at a Skoda dealer, you would get much less than from a Honda dealer. It's just the way thing are. (you could sell the car to the dealer (or private) and then go get the Vauxhall. That way you would be between the two as you would get more than vauxhall, but less than px from the Skoda dealer)

I liked the garage at sedgefield as they are Ford and Skoda dealers so I got more than I expected for my focus

and vice versa if I wanted to change back to a Ford they would be my choice as they can stick the skoda straight back on their forecourt

shame other dealers dont have 2 franchises!

I think this rings true as I got **** all for my 200vi when I got my focus!

but it was a grotty car so took the deal anyway :)

Toyota will actualy give you more for another brand than if you traded in another Toyota.

Found this out when we were looking to replace our Octy estate.

It is true that Skoda will give you more than other dealers. Got

There prob' is a bit of that, but when I was trying to buy the Seat, it should not have worked that way as the dealer (SERE) was a multi-franchise firm which also had a Skoda dealership 500 yards down the road. They have since dropped the Skoda franchise (or been dropped, don't know which).

My last car was a Civic Type R. A great car to drive, very fast, very cool. One day i'll have both - hopefully.

I actually got a great trade in deal for my new K&L Octavia Estate TDi 130 (fully loaded) recently - and so far it's great. Comfortable leather, good aircon, even the factory standard sound system sounds good considering most standard fit units are crap. Reversing sensors are usefull for those low walls/high kerbs. The car cruises quietly at 80 (where permitted - officer) all day and hardly uses any fuel. Great acceleration for a heavy estate + Loads of room to.
