I'm in Hove (ACTUALLY !), used to work in Lancing. A mate from Crawley put me on to Clarion Cars in West Worthing - a good outfit except can't do warranty work. That's where I got the Octy 2 - Sahara Beige Hatch. Look out for EGZ [or "Eggs" as my mates call it!]

I'll keep my eyes peeled

Keep an eye out for ZZH :D

Be aware that Bexhill are no longer main Dealers either' date=' despite still having all the signs up!!

And they aren't actually in Bexhill anymore, they moved down the road to St Leonards a while back, can be difficult to find if you dont spot the small turning onto a sh*tty little industrial estate.[/quote']

Phoned them up to check - they are "satellite" dealers [Get your Skoda Sputnik here!???] Means they get the cars via their place in Croydon, and have full warranty facilities. So by Monday night I can report on their service, and, hopefully, the new seals.

Though I'm booked with the Bexhill lot for the Mk 2's door seals, I've since worked out that distance and time-wise I'd have been better off going to Crawley Down - almost like going up to Gatwick. Anybody know what Crawley are like as dealers?

I've had no problems with Crawley down (been using them for about 3 years now), got my old Fabia vRS and new Octavia from them. They recently built a deadicated service site, just down the road from the dealership which helps out greatly.

Just moved from London to Canterbury. Had excellent service from Le Car Centre in Finchley, but now looking for somewhere a bit more local to service & fix our 6-month-old L&K 2.0TDi estate (sahara beige - RIP). Has to be an authorised Skoda dealer - any suggestions?

Bought my Octavia TDi new just over 2 years ago from longstanding main dealer Saltdean Garage (near Brighton). Called in recently to discover the receivers had got there first, all shut down. Any ideas on what happened?

I heard that it was VW who may have called in the receivers. Some dodgy accounting going on to say the least;) as I got a letter from the receivers saying I owed

Visited a friend last night who lives a few doors from Ballamys. Both buildings empty and locked up tight. Apparently they hadn't been selling Saab for a year [used to be Saab main dealer before Saltdean takeover, then for a while handled Saab and Skoda]

Apparently Les Ballamy still owns site freehold but had sold out the company + the name itself some time ago. Remains to be seen what goes in there next as it is a good business site.

Odd that a local Skoda group should go bust as there seem to be more assorted Skodas on the roads round here than any other six makes put together.
