Highway Insurance Scam

Featured Replies

Have a search on here, a few people have also had very bad experiences with them. They're not affiliated with the site as such, but seem to be Chris Knott's insurer of choice. I was certainly put off them by some of the stuff I read, although when I had my policy with them I did not test their claims dept! :D

Thats who they said would underwrite the policy they were offering me. I'm sticking with Adrian Flux.

Adrian Flux use them too on alot of their policies.

Me too!

I got the insurance obudsmen invloved on my wife's car due to excessive time taken for repair and shoddy workmanship. They wrote a letter to the MD of DL (Had his direct address and name) and they wrote back and got the job sorted out even repairing extra scratches and sending me a £50 cheque (which I never asked for). So from me it's a big thumbs up to DL as they handled the case sympathetically and the problems were caused by one of their sub agents which I know of 3 other people who have complained about this establishment

Hmmm, interesting. I am presently underwritten by Equity Red Star but am due for renewal within the next couple of weeks. Must check the documents.

Phew, no need to panic, still Equity Red Star!

Highway have now agreed to pay out.

Obviously that has nothing to do with the need for them to save face, nor the thousands of modified car owners who would no longer consider them for insurance

Glad they paid, no real option but to.

Insurance is a gamble, some good some bad. Take direct line, never had a good experince and SWMBO car came back 3 times each with more problems than when it went in...only little things like bulkhead seal split, cracked windscreen after signed off it was repalced, ac failed, bodywork damage after repaired accident damage...all the DL repairers fault, but how much help was DL?

Yup ziltch, Clare had to run around and do the arrangements, take time of work to get car picked up /inspected etc.

I'm underwritten by highway via the insurance of chris knott via the site, as many are who are using there services.

So long as everything is declared and clear I see no problem with going legal oh and igniting the wildfire mill of the interweb.

Take Liverpool victoria, there policy change spread like that, now not sure how many modified people use em, I'll never use them again after there op staff told me i was not insured and they would not pay out, considering I'd been paying them for the last 8 months I thought this a bit rich so cancelled on the spot, although what did I cancel...other than meaningless paper.

Who at LV said that? Surely you contested it. Seems a bit rich to say yeah we taken your money no youa re not covered.

I'm amazed as i know people who work there.

When I renewed my RLV insurance I specifically asked if my previously declared mods were still covered.

They responded that they were BUT, they would not accept any more mods to the car. When my son insured his Mini with them, he was advised NOT to make any engine mods as they are not prepared to cover.

Will check again when i renew in Jan 07 if the current mods are still covered.

get this i recently updated my personal details with ade flux, I changed my job from an HGV driver to a welder and lo and behold Highway wont even insure me any more. Flux try to find another policy and the best they can do is £100 quid more than i`ve already paid. Any way as I said in another post i went with MoreThan , super cheap and i should be coveered fine cos my VRS is standard for now.
