Hi everyone, I'm a member of a number of forums, but it never occurred to me to look for a skoda one. I was looking up info on the skoda i bought last week - it's my third octavia, I'm very happy with these cars, as I'm sure you all are.

Looking a bit of help - the car I bought is the new octavia, a 2005 hatchback. I left the showroom without the manuals, but I'll get them soon - I have to go back on monday to get the tow-bar electrics fitted. But in the meantime, I've bought roof bars (not skoda's own) and promised the kids we can go surfing tomorrow (them, not me!).

Now I have the bars assembled, but the instructions say that I should look at my car manual for exact measurements of where to place the bars.

Is there anyone who can look up the manual for me? - That's how I found the forum; I was looking this up on net and praying at the same time.

Hoping someone can help.

The manual merely states:-

'Remove the plastic screw. Insert the attachment points of the roof rack into the mounts of the body so that the pins of the attachment points grasp into the holes of the body'.

It doesn't give any measurements but does state that you should use Skoda roof racks only.

I'll just line up the feet with the holes and see how it goes. It's not a skoda/thule but it does say it's compatible.
