Little Switch, what does it do?

Featured Replies

Just test drove a Fabia vRS and have a question for you guys that the sales guy couldn't answer for me. There's a little switch that slides in and out just below and to the right of the steering wheel, what does it do?

Also is the traction control switchable? i.e. can it be turned off? Couldn't see a switch for it, maybe this sliding switch is it, I'm not sure?

Mightily impressed by the vRS might I add!

I think you may be reffering to the air con open/close thingy? Its there for keeping cans of drink cold, apparently, but i've never needed it so far.

The traction control im fairly sure is the "ASR" button next to the heated rear element button...above the head unit...?

The little pull switch is to heat or cool the little drop down pocket, and the traction is switchable, the button is next the heated rear window one, marked 'ASR'. ;)

the sliding switch just opens a vent in that small compartment... useful for hot days on long journeys as a can of coke fits in there nicely.

traction control can be turned off using a button on the dash above the headunit... think all this is correct!

Although interestingly, when the ASR button is pressed, the t/c light on the dashboard is lit (to say it's off!). Very confusing lol.

Does ASR still stay on in the background when it is off like ESP? that will add to the confusion:confused:

not that confusing really as it is a warning light to say that the system is de-activated :)

Although it also flashes on when it's working as well ;) Which could lead to confusion :D

As far as remaining active when it's off, I believe that the EDL cannot be switched off, but I stand to be corrected :D

Not really Chris. If it was lit when on, it would not flash when it was working;)
