Sounds like you got a quality handover!

If you hold the end of the right stalk, your 'maxi-dot' display will bring up your computer. One of the sections in there will allow you to turn this off.

Don't worry about your tyres though, it's just something you can set in the cars computer.

Does it actually stop you exceeding 56 or is it like the Audi speed warning which just bongs at you? Scared the hell out of me when my RS4 did it at 99 :(

No it allows me to go over 55mph but as I have just got it i am only keeping the speed down for a few miles to run it in.
