Just had a quick look on Ebay am certainly wishing i went for the Xenon option

If anyone knows of any E-approved lights please let me know

Cheers for gettin back to me, am gettin there slowly ;)

Would having any of the above lights be like having non E-approved rear clusters?? Is it simply an approving issue or would it actually be hazardous in the way that they are designed for left hookers and therefore probably going to always be shinning into people's faces??

The ones above arent for left hand traffic (right hand drive).

So the kick up part of the beam will be lighting up the wrong side of the road blinding oncomming traffic, wont pass an MOT and therefore would be illegal.

Whats the consensus on splitting the front lights and spraying them black (not around the bulbs obviously) ??

Much like the low spec european lights?

They look cool.

Yeah. I see loads of people doing it on my little local "cruising" site. And as I may soon be having a "black" ish bonnet, I thought blacked out front lights would be cool. Knowing me I'd probably **** it up and get moisture in there and end up having misted up lights all the time.

With non-Xenon lights, they'll probably get hot enough to demist themselves in normal use. The vRS foglights do.

I have tired this one myself already. I found a company willing to convert them to UK spec but they want an order or 3000 units  I dont think there is even that many fabias on briskoda.

You could convert the current ones but they are all sealed units with once opened will be prone to damp problems.

HTH

you shouldnt open existing headlights because as mentioned.. they are sealed units... but take it from me... they are impossible to open anyway!!

aye TYC did say that the chances are fairly high that you would break them. Unless of course you have the right equipment for the job, which us normal folk (if there is such a thing on briskoda) will not have.

So the final answer to your question Gaz is NO
