clutch clicking noise when pulling away

Featured Replies

I keep getting a clicking noise for the clutch or cable or it could even be the gearbox, it happens when I pull away in first gear and I lift off the clutch pedal it seems to happen when there is strain on the engine or gearbox.

can anybody help

does it only happen in 1st gear??

It happens when there is a strain on the engine it does not happen as much any other time. It happens when I pull away in first gear, it can also happen when I am nearly stopped and I put my foot down in second or third gear.

mostly happen when I put the car in first gear and I lift of the clutch pedal I get this click, its not the clutch itself as I got a new clutch fitted and it did not make any difference.

is the clicking from the clutch pedal area itself and does it happen with the engine off and gently lifting the pedal? - if so it sounds like mine which had to have a new clutch master cylinder...

I have seen this several times and it can be cured by removing the lower dash panel and refitting it. Sounds odd I know but it works.

does it click constantly or only once??
