Argh! Bulb warning...

Featured Replies

For the past couple of weeks the blown bulb warning keeps tripping when I'm on the brakes at a junction. The beep is very annoying. When I take my foot off the pedal it goes away and doesn't reoccur until the next journey. The bulbs are working fine BTW.

Any ideas for stuff to check or do I need to chuck the car back at Skoda for something so silly?

Have you checked the high level brake light may be an LED in that causing the issue sometime not working .. would be worth checking. Had a similar problem on my 54 Plate Vrs although i never cured it .. gave up in the end sometimes it would be like a christmas tree for a day or two then would hear nothing for weeks, My 06 doesn't have the same issue fortunately

I seem to remember reading something like this being caused by a faulty brake switch and it was/is a very common problem. Worth having a search and seeing what gets turned up. Does your high-level brake light work?

The high level one works but I can't easily tell using the mirrors if there's a sub-bulb out. I'll go grab someone and have a look later.

Got my Mum to press the pedal while I cheked the lights - all OK.

Looks like a trip to the dealer. Maybe they can fix the squeaky drivers seat while it's in :).
