Featured Replies

hi, when you select gear in my 05 fabia vrs you used to hear the reserc motor kick in , i have just recently had a new gearbox fitted and since then this feature doesnt work, just wondering is there something i can do or would it have to go back to the dealership to be done? how does it work? how is the reserc connected to the reverse gear? can anyone help?

more than likely due to the battery being off and they havent reset the climatic motors.

how do you reset the motors then Ross ,please dont keep us in suspense too long

What is the "reserc motor"? and What does it do?

The recirc motor operates the recirc flap.

This closes the heating system to the outside of the car (little button next to the a/c button with the arrow on it).

Resetting the motors is a simple enough job providing you have VAG COM or diagnostic equipment,

Why does it enable recirulation when in reverse?

I'm puzzled:confused:

Why does it enable recirulation when in reverse?

Allegedly to stop you breathing in all the diesel fumes that you're reversing into. Can't say I've ever really had a problem with it in the past, and I imagine that it could be quite frustrating if you were a driving instructor practising manouevres and the recirc kept causing the front screen to mist up!

Chris

I had a new gearbox, and mine still works, someone must have missed something....

edit: I'm an instructor.... it's never on long enough to mist things up ;)
