Respect from a beemer

:D

Just on my way back from salsa tonight, in outside lane of A57 just as it turns into M602. BMW 325ci in middle lane, had dropped back a bit, and was getting a run on me. So, when road was clear, I booted it up to national speed limit, before my lane merged into his. He pushed it, and then backed off, and I pulled into inside lane. Instead of screaming past me like most annoyed drivers do, he tucked in behind me and dropped back to a safe distance. He then drew alongside as if to scream off into the distance, had a butchers at my car. When he saw me signalling to pull off, he flashed is lights (in acknowledgement?) and carried on.

Suffice to say, I had a wicked grin on my face the rest of the way home:P

325s ant ****.

Yeah, I like it when people are willing to have a bit of a play and be friendly about it! Coming back from Lincoln late one evening I had a play with a guy in an Astra from just outside Lincoln all the way to the exit on the A1 for Peterborough. As I went for the slip road I flashed my lights and he flashed hazards and I went off with a grin.

depends on the age, a new one if driven well will beat you everytime as it handles better, has more power, can put that power down better and is quicker in general.

its nice when people are willing to have a play and be friendly about it :)

schern, I'm from peterborough and still visit family down there, I've forgotten where the good roads are, as I'd like to take my grandad for a blast! Any ideas?

Speaking as a current BMW owner and ex-Skoda owner, I took the missus and our new son to see her parents in Norfolk yesterday which is about 200 miles from home. We took her 330 Touring Sport which is black with blacked out windows and 18" wheels, which does look quite tasty. Anyway, as we had a 2 week old in the car I was driving Miss Daisy, sticking to the speed limits (ish) and accelerating gently etc. The number of people glued to my bumper was shocking. I know BMW drivers do this, but we are also on the receiving end of bullying tactics. If you drive a quick BM, it seems people want to race you all the time (there were some ratty old cars too). I get it in the M5 too.
