Best place to buy a Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm thinking of replacing my current car in December once it's MOT runs out (if it lasts that long). Been looking at the Fabia for a while. I think the VRS is out of my price range :( but thinking of getting a 1.9 TDI instead. I see there's numerous cars on here available, but where else is there that's worth looking? Ebay and autotrader seem to be very short of 1.9 TDI models.

Cheers,

Piggeh

(and for the record my current car is a megane, and I have vowed never to touch Renaults again!)

Have you taken a look around your local dealerships for a "bargin"

Are you going for a new one or second hand?

Piggeh ...I think the VRS is out of my price range

What's your price range?

price range will probably be around the £5,000 mark, so second hand. looked at the local dealers and the only thing they have is a £9k 2005 reg.

Few on sale here.

Skoda Dealership?

Be warned, used TDIs are hard to come buy and do hold their values very well.

holding their values well is a good thing though? Means it will still be worth a few grand when I come to sell it, and as I'm crap at saivng any cash, I think that's a good thing :)

But they are difficult to come by... :/

I would say that some are hard to sell on. Mine now has battle damage and is almost impossible to sell for a reasonable amount. Depends on if you are after an immaculate one or not.

A 55-60mpg car isnt going to be too hard to shift though, imo. Was doing some body work on my car today though, so I would get anything back into good shape if the body was tatty... er, hopefully :)

Well, erm, if anyone knows of any available in the South East.. My timing belt snapped on my megane today so I am now carless! :(
