Navigation system for fabia?

Featured Replies

Hey, i've been looking into try to get a factory sat nav system for my 2001 fabia elegance 1.4 16V, I've come across units for the octavia (SKODA NAVIGATION SYSTEM MFD RNS 2), I was just wonder whether there is anyway to get it to fit into the fabia???

I think there is, but to be honest, with the quality and price of portable sat nav units nowadays, is it really worth the huge amount of cash the fitted oem systems will set you back? I would sooner go for a tom tom for around £250-£300 whatever the new ones cost, and save the rest for other mods.... or beer. :dtp: :D

well i've managed to find a sat nav MFD RNS 2 system for £350 which im willing to spend, but im just worried about its compatibility with the fabia. Can it be done?

If so what connectors e.t.c will i need?

I had a factory fitted sat nav as standard in my Superb but would have been very annoyed if I had paid for it as an optional extra. When compared to my TomTom 700 it is very unsophisticated. No 3D mapping, one very intrusive female voice and the CD takes forever to calculate routes. I just dont bother anymore and use my 700, it may not look as good but to me the quality of the navigation is the most important factor.

My advice, dont but it, by a tom tom or a PDA with tom tom instead, you will save heaps, be able to go anywhere with it. 2 cents worth

The Skoda/VW satnavs don't allow full UK postcode searching, which is the way I usually hunt for a location. Typing in the full address takes too long and is too prone to errors.
