DIY 2004 4X4 Combi Project

Featured Replies

I have been pricing up for interest how much it would cost in parts for a DIY build of a 2004 4X4 Combi. All prices are taken from ETKA and are less VAT. Those in brackets are for the vRS. The list includes only a fraction of the parts needed - and the prices for some parts may be for exchange units rather than new. But that little lot - which excludes suspension, fuel system, brakes, aircon, most interior trim, doors and lids, glass, engine cooling, most of the electrics etc - comes to circa

Come into some money, Denis?

;)

Quiet day ;)?

It's interesting that the Haldex ECU costs more than the main ECU. I remember that some magazine did a similar thing for a Micra a few years ago, and came to the conclusion that we were being ripped off (yawn).

Denis,

if you think I'm going to arrange a group buy to get bits for your 4x4 project, think again. ;)

Denis , you really should get out more :D

Some people just have far too much spare time :rotz:

Denis, you missed the Jabbasport baseball cap off the list!

Can you let me have a new haldex and 4x4 control unit on free trial please to see if it helps my car ? :goodvibes

Is the mandatory 4x4 combi driver's lobotomy included FOC? Or does it just not appear on ETKA?

:D

Are you going for the practical caterham look, as you have no windows.

Denis...

so what you are telling us is that Skoda had to heavily discount the 4x4 to sell them? or are they robbing us on parts?

It's got to be the discount. i'm suprised it lasted this long, with the saloon being dropped like a stone from the model line up.
