electric windows

Featured Replies

Since disconnecting my battery the electric windows will not close without keeping the switch pressed. Before it used to go all the way up by pulling the switch to the second possition and then letting it go. I only used the first possition of the switch if it only needed to go up or down a little. Any ideas please.

The convenience operation needs resetting. The procedure is in the front of the Owner's Manual for the Octavia, if that is what you own. I will move this thread to the appropriate Model Specific Help forum once you let us know which model you query relates to.

Sorry I should have said the model it is a Fabia estate

It tells you in manual. Put the key in the drivers door and turn until the windows lower all the way, then turn the other way and hold until the windows are all the way up. iirc.

I believe you can also do it by opening/closing the windows and holding the button for a few seconds when the window reaches the end of its travel :D

I thought you could, but you can't really go wrong when quoting the manual.... as long as its not about bulbs! :D

Page 51 of the Fabia Owner's Manual:

Proceed as follows in order to re-establish the (automatic opening and closing) function:

* turn the key in the lock of the driver door into the closing position and hold it there until all the windows are closed.

* release the key.

* once again insert the key and turn it into the closing position for about 3 seconds.

Thats for comfort closing isnt it rather than one touch???
