Hi Folks,

I've kinda been away for the last year or so, sold my 52 plate vRS Octy and traded it for something I (with hindsight!) should maybe not have! It's a RenaultSport Megane 225, great car and one I'll be sad to see go but I really want to go back to the Skoda family again and also miss a larger car too. I've also been pretty busy with the band I play guitar for (see signature for links). We have been gigging both up here in Sunny Scotland and have played London a couple of times too. A UK tour is planned for October also which we are all really looking forward to. If I can help anyone with tickets etc for any of the shows, just ask as it would be great if you could make it to a gig.

I'm currently still driving the Megane but going to test drive a 55 plate Octy vRS this afternoon so will see what happens.

The RS Megane (and this is compared to my old vRS that had Bilsteins sprintline dampers on them) handles very, very well. The grip up to the limit is fantastic, I have one with the 'cup' chassis option which is a bit more 'hardcore' than standard. Ride is harsh compared to the Octy but it's not STi or Evo harsh if you get me. Power is very smooth and lacks the 'ping' of the 1800rpm turbo on 'switch' that my old Octy had. With the Megane you can be doing some serious mph but it still remains smooth and kinda feels 'slow'. That's only a sensation though as the motor is seriously quick.

Don't get me wrong, the car is fast and well refined for a French motor. I have enjoyed it immensely but really miss the Octy I had and would like to be back in a Skoda again. My other half and I are also proudly expecting our first nipper in March '07 so going back to a bigger car is what I'm looking to do too.

Just noticed Manny, did you sell your Porsche? I think the last time I was on here you had just sold your red vRS and bought the Boxster, how is/ was it?
