Fabia vRS- Revo map - negative feedback wanted aswell as positive !!

Featured Replies

I've now had my vRS in standard trim for 3 years and have recently changed the air intake ready for a revo remap. However before i spend the cash i want to check for some feedback as obviously there are people out there who have had several miles of experience with this remap. I seem to be able to find quite a lot of +ve feedback but very little -ve. Are these maps really this good? please let me know of any negative comments people have.

Had mine Revod 6 months now, abit more smoky but otherwise superb

You can expect a huge gain in performance with most remaps. Turbo and clutch life will be sortened though if you regularly make full use of the performance.

I had some negative feedback to give with my Revo remap.

The car was faster, but when I changed back to "Stock", the car felt just the same.

I went back to the supplier and he had to sort out a new SPS1 switch. The original didn't seem to be working correctly.

As it happens, the car produces 152bhp on "Stock" setting and 176 on "Performance", so there isn't the marked difference that I was expecting.

It is certainly more powerful than standard and the mid range is a great deal stronger.

I was disappointed that "Stock" did not mean "Standard", but I guess that is my fault for not researching more before buying.

My car is still under warranty and I wanted to be able to switch back to standard when it went to the dealer for anything, and also for if anything went wrong and it had to go in for a warranty claim.

I'm happy with the performance gain and very happy with the supplier. He got my car back in at short notice and spent quite a bit of time with it on the rollers........also supplied cups of tea and a sausage roll!!! LOL

If I was spending the money again, I'd go for a method that kept the actual standard map/software (AMD Oneclick for example), but if my car was out of warranty I think I'd either go Revo without the SPS1, or more than likely I'd have a proper custom remap done at Jabba.......I have heard nothing but good about them and their work. I know a lad with a 360bhp Ibiza and I'm pretty sure they did all the work.

Hope this helps in your decision.

Whatever remap you go for, treat your clutch with care. Min has slipped a couple of times, but you can "drive around" it and unless you are booting it in a high gear from a low speed, it seems just fine.

What symptoms of clutch slip are you having ?

Is it slipping on pulling off, or is it in gear accelleration , if so which gears ?

I had a clutch slip problem and it was fixed under warranty, only slipping in 5th or 6th on trying to use the torque.

Clutch slip (and only a bit) has happened in say 4th or 5th gear and when applying full throttle at about 2-2.5K rpm.

I've just eased off slightly and she's been fine. I can give full throttle once it's above about 3K rpm with no problems.

As for a warranty claim.........erm.....Revo remap may upset Skoda a bit!!

Ive had Revo for 2.5 years and 65k miles... never had any problems, or complaints.

any remap will be more smokey.. still on original clutch ( even tho it slipped a bit since the day it was mapped) is just as powerful (if not more) than other remaps.. dead level with other vendor re-mapped cars with the newer shorter ratio gearbox...

i give it :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: out of 5 :D

dead level with other vendor re-mapped cars
