There's a lot of fascia adapters out there, so how do you know which to use? Look, for example, at the poor fit of the Skoda original fascia with the Blaupunkt San Remo (default fabia radio in Denmark) - there's a huge gap below the HU!

This is one of the reasons I consider changing my HU. Maby to a Becker unit, I think it looks pretty good in the dash.

But which fascia aparter should I use, then? We have:

Autolead (FP-20-00)

Connects2 (CT24SK01)

Phonocar (3/255)

and the original Skoda

Some of them has the filling strip above, some below the HU, but I'm not sure which. Going through the forum, I find a considererable confusion on the subject, and it looks like I'm not the only one who want's a good looking HU fit in my Fab.

So: If you have any experience on the subject - or maby photo's - please post your thoughts.

The OE Skoda one is only a trim piece that fits above the HU. That's why it's only £3.

I think its because the OEM radio has quite a thick front panel to it so an aftermarket one sits too far back. You could tray and space off the front of the cage so it brings it further forward.

So what exactly is the £15 kit from Skoda? Just ordered one, and the dealer wasn't entirely sure what it comprised!

It looks like your radio is to far back. I also have a Blaupunkt radio in mine, and it sits further out, and i don`t have that ugly opening at the bottom.

Do you still have warranty? If yes, ask the dealer to fix it, it shouldn`t look like that. You could also fix it yourself, shouldn`t be a big problem. :-)

Edit: I have just had a look at mine. It`s a San Remo RD168, and mine is curved, so it kinda curves with the dash. This isn`t the original radio.

Year, the RD168 looks much better. Anyway, have just ordered the Becker, so let's see how that works out.
