i bought a lupo from a dealer in luton which now no longer exists which had a knackered steering rack.... they tried to tell me there was nothin wrong with it.... but i took it to thier workshop and insisted that they had a look at it..... they refused..... so i drove it into thier workshop onto one of thier ramps.... and proceeded to remove the steering rack with my own tools.

on closer inpspection of the underside of the car (which was supposed to be one of those multi-point inspection warranty things) it looked like the car had been in an accident. overspray on sills etc etc etc.....

vw customer service were not very helpfull and bascially couldn't care less about the whole situation....... it turned out that i never got my money back in the end....

never mind..... moral of the story is this

"never trust any car dealers, even if they are franchised agents, have a good look around the car before you buy, get an inpedendant opinion from a engineer/mechanic first"

on a more lighter note... if you've bought something using hire pruchase which is a regulated aggreement, then you do have a cooling off period after the sale if you are not happy with the goods, so long as it can be returned to the vendor in the same condition.

So tell us today, or tomorrow at North Weald what has happened ????

A guy at work managed to reject his 307 after the engine seized after 25miles from new because of a faulty oil pump. Aparently there was a waiting list or delay for the model/spec he wanted so he went elsewhere.
