Anyone had this happen to them?

Featured Replies

Had a rear passenger door window shatter for no reason on a Citroen C3 shortly after taking delivery of it. The car was parked in a locked garage at the time..........Spooky!

my dad recently had one of the side windows in his octi ust craze and we know it was from the inside fro 2 reasons the shards at teh centre were facing out and there was no glass in the car.

when the fitter came and replaced it he said it was one of those things that could have been caused by a number of things

Hi Paul.

Just had this happen on my way to work this morning. Frosty morning, 5 min into journey, just turn the heater off 3 min b4 and wallop the rear screen exploded. Who knows what caused it but I'll bet stress was somewhere in the equation..

I had this happen to my Nova yonks ago - I suspected kids throwing stones.

I've seen this happen to a Saxo before. I believe it's explained by a weakness in the glass (either due to age of manufacturing fault). It should be covered under warranty because it should not shatter on a car under 3 years old.

it hapens to tractors quite a bit they can just randomly pop out and thats put down to presure in the cab so i wouldn't worry about folk throwing things at it ;)

I have known it to happen to a Citroen AX before.

Problem with them is the tailgate has no metal surround, it's all glass down to the metal vertical bit so that kind of fell off as well.

not inwards so it could have only been done from the inside if it had been smashed.... fix in the end...:)

You sure you didn't have a bick argument with your gf before you went to pay for the diesel!? :D

Last week my neighbours Megane got a recall notice for rear window shattering problems when using the demister. Not sure exactly what is the cause of it, glass or demister.

it happened to me once, i had just parked the car in the garage ,slammed the drivers door and the windscreen shattered and fell in the car, no idea what caused it, these things happen
