New Roomster Launch

Featured Replies

Last Saturday (23/9/06) I was invited like many otheres to view the new Skoda Roomster:thumbup:  .

We duly went along to the showroom in Colchester to be greeted by 4 people looking around the new car (which by the way is very impressive) the number of viewers increased until at the end there were around 8 people and in the 20 minutes that we had been in there not one Skoda sales person had asked if if we needed anyhelp.

One couple walked out in disgust and the otheres were more than disgruntled.

I do not believe that this was any way to launch a new car, one moment in praise came from the Mazda sales man who put his head round and attempted to help people but it was clear he knew nothing of the marque but at least he tried.

This did not give a good showing for whta is one of the better makes of car on the market right now.

this is a total opposite to what i experienced last Thursday evening when i went to the Mitchells Skoda Roomster launch party , loads of very helpful sales and reception staff , food and drink available , goody bags and loads of Roomsters (10 in total , 7 to road test and 3 to just view) Also loads of people came to see the cars in the flesh , i'm sure there was at least 100 cars parked up at the very nice country house where it was staged at

Went to a great launch on Saturday. Excellent display and discussion, free buffet, bouncy castle, disco and raffle. A quality night out!!!

No complaints here

That just show's how good a company Mitchells are, I have no qualms in going to them for my next vehicle

When i went on Sunday there were 3 Roomsters 1,2 and 3. Lots of friendly and helpful staff there, good buffet (especially chicken gougons hmm..) and a raffle of course, didn't win anything though.

Not that big a dealership compared to some i imagine but said they had about 120 people there the day before. (Saturday).

That's bad, given that back when I was running Citroens, the dealer ran regular by invitation "open evenings" when you could go along, tour the workshop, look at cars etc, although sales would be available, rather than asking people explicitly "can I help you?"

no invite from our local dealer, only two cars on show, none to drive, very low key launch.Next nearest dealer had a test drive in 1.9d, very impressed+more helpful salesman....could be ordering one v.soon!
