Thin client/citrix questions

Featured Replies

here we go again....

Righty ive been flung in at the deep-end with this one...

Basically ive got to get a 90% field-ready thin-client solution ready to install in a live-test branch by next monday

We already have one citrix server thats pretty much set-up altho theres a couple of things i still need to figure out..

Does anyone have a decent knowlege of thin-client and citrix who can maybe help me? lol

Firstly does anyone have any knowledge about the thin-terminals themselfs? eg the major differences advantages/disadvantages of windows CE vs XP embedded..

Ideally it should be a case of switch it on.. it boots and loads into the citrix connection, so displays the win2k3 login and will sit there until someone logs in.. is this possible?

Also i need to change the login-timeout on the server, because it boots sessions out if they dont log in for a few minutes.. im not sure what im looking for here?

:o:O:O:O

We use a citrix system at work to transfer work to and from the contractor, but I only use a specialised quarter of it so I doubt I'd be much help. GIS systems and AutoCAD however . . :D

Nope its no good, Ive read it three times now and I still dont have a clue what your on about Colin.

I did a job a while back for a company in Chirk Col, they had XP embedded and it was a doddle, I ended up controlling log on screens etc through various computer level GPO's, and ran a start up script on the GPO to launch the ICA Client

The HP's they had where great little machines and did exactly what your asking above.

With XP embedded, you can treat them like "real" Desktops, if you get my drift
