Options for more power on 110 Tdi

Featured Replies

Right,

I've got a 2003 Octy Estate 110 Tdi.

Now the car is out of warranty I've been thinking that I might like to invest in a bit more power.:)

I don't want to go crazy and put alot more strain on components causing them to fail early as I'm planning on keeping this ultra reliable car for another 3 years.

Is a remap the way to go? I see I have a Revo near me in Ashford, Kent.

Anyone had any experience of boosting the power on a 110 Tdi.

Any experiences, both good and bad, would be good to hear about.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to PM StuartJ if he doesn't reply here. He has a 110TDI L&K estate which I think was at about the 160 mark.

Shouldn't that be a "had", Jon? :(

You can either go with a remap or a tuning box (check eBay) for more power :D

Chris

I have a rempa upto 146 hp, done 10000 miles with the remap with no apparnet problems, fuel economey is up slighlty and it much easier to overatke.

Was it expensive? I take it yours was done locally?

Also, did you uprate anything else on the car?

Steve

Mine cost £411 however there are various companies around, wither cheaper or more expensive, just do a search, plenty of people have Revo remaps.

Didn't change anything else on the car as do a lot of m'way work so didn't want stiffer suspension or though it would be handy for the odd A road.

Staurt's / Wendy's has done about 120k with no mechanical problems.

My friend has a similar car (his is a 130) that is running a fair bit of power and has been remapped for the last 120k miles (he had it done at 10k) with no issues.

Hi

Remaps will not give more wear on the engine and you should have many more reliable miles of driving.

We also sell Tunit boxes these will give you 136bhp and an increase of 30lb/ft torque

We have sold loads of these and fitted one a while ago to a Leon 110TDi

The same engine as yours and he loves it.

£398.00 + VAT and great returns

It can even make the fuel economy better

Guaranteed not to smoke too

Hope that helps

I'd dispute that, if all the power is used. Remember seeing somewhere that it had been calculated that for every time you used the max it knocked something like 10km off the live expectancy

Mind you, based on that, mine should be well dead by now :)

It does put a strain on components other than the engine eg clutch, gearbox , suspension and brakes.
