Ice link plus and nano 2nd gen problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just purchased the ice link plus, with active cradle, to use with my nano 2nd generation ipod. I have a skoda octavia 2002, with a grundig symphony head unit. The people i got the unit off sent me a VW ice link which they said would work on the skoda.

The problem i have is that when using the dension menu via the head unit i can not get to the ipod user interface menu or the album menu , as when i press the button to scroll through the menu the menu items always skip by 2 items.

For example the menu always starts on item 2. When i press the button to scroll though the menu it then goes to item 4, missing item 3 on the menu......and so forth. When the dension software starts up it says volkswagan on th screen. can i do a firmware change using the skoda settings?or are there other ways of resolving the problem?

Also when advancing through songs it always advances by 2 songs.

thanks

I had exactly the same problem, but with a iPod Mini...

I wish you well in finding a solution, but don't hold your breath.

Since getting my new Octy II I've changed the connector to fit the new HU and all is well

thanks for reply, Have had contact with dension support and they are hopefully dealing with issue. If not will send item back and go for the connect2 product which i believe only uses the ipod interface. shame really cause sound quality is great, let down by the dension user interface.

The fact that its a VW one shouldn't make any difference. My icelink plus is a VW and it works in my fabia with my ipod video fine.

Hi, stillwaiting to hear from dension support, there promises of getting back to me are useless. still I have managed to find a work around.

Before accessing the dension menu i press the scan button first on the head unit and then press cd6 button to get the dension menu up on the nano. Everything seems to work normally now.

Hopefully this might help other people with the same trouble.

there promises of getting back to me are useless
I see nothing has changed then with their customer support service :thumbdwn:
