Coilovers for my Elegance 1.8 T

Featured Replies

What coilover kit would you reccomend to fit to my Octy??

I am considering replacing the vRS springs and dampers for something a bit stiffer and with adjustment.

Are the rears a proper coilover or do you still have a seperate spring and damper arrangement??

Also how much am i looking at to get some??

Cheers

Same enit ???? What have got fitted as standard?

500 squids to infinity,,,, you pays for what you get.

Do the rears stay as they are ie with a seperate spring and damper or do you have the proper coilover with the spring around the damper at the rear of the car too??

Same as standard, you'd need to re-inforce the rear turrets if you went for coilovers.

KWs replace the existing but have adjustment on the springs IIRC

yeah they are still seperate springs and dampers at the rear but they are matched and adjustable if needed.

Thats probably changed my mind then :)

What sort of spring and damper package would be better than the standard vRS springs and dampers i have got then???

if you get something like a KW coilover kit you get the coilovers for the front and the matched springs/dampers for the rear:)

KW V1:thumbup:

So i don't need to strengthen the rear turrets after all then???

what jon was referring to was fitting an actual coilover unit at the rear you would need to strengthen the turrets but as all conventional coil over kits come with the appropriate spring/damper setup then no, you don't need to strentghen anything at all:)

Ok, i see

Thanks for all the help. Need to get some pennies now.

:)

the KW are good, with the V1 i think you get height adjustement only, V2 gets you rebound damping adjustement aswel then V3 adds compression damping adjustement for the full effect :)

V3 are very, very good. You can set it up \just right  Had them on both my Octys. Love them.
