i work for a Ford dealership , so yes a dealer with a MIG welder and someone who knows how to us it , should be able to do it for you

If its a genuine one then I use a gearbox bung tool and hammer it in then undo.

still stuck on, dealer will contact me on monday with a specialist who might be able to sort it, trouble is they put the blasted thing on in the 1st place when they changed my rear pads 10k ago.

If you've got a socket you can afford to "lose", try hammering an old 12 sider over the nut.

thats what i would suggest as well. See if you can hammer a socket on it and get it open.

Or, If its sticks far enough out, weld a bar to it.

I had the same problem with both my fronts. Ended up drilling them out, only took 4 hours a side using cobalt bits and some fancy things from my friends work.

Yes a MIG welder is the thing you need if the hammer on Halfords type sockets won't work

Easiest way is to weld 'points' onto the top of the bolt that the sides of an ordinary socket can then act on
