Retro Fitting a Standard CD Changer

Featured Replies

Anyone give me some rough idea of how much hassle it is to fit a standard CD Changer to the VRS headunit..

It's part number is... 1J5 035 111A

Do i have to remove the passenger seat and run cables?

As you say, I think its just a case of getting the cable loom and running to the back of the HU. The OEM installation is under the passenger seat in a furby vRS, however there is nothing to stop you mounting it in the hatch area.

Thanks for that...

What i'm really looking for is to fit it under the passenger seat so its neat. What exactly do i need in terms of parts to do it properly apart from the CD Changer unit?

I guess i'm gonna have to rip out the storage area and get some brackets?

Would it be easier to just get a dealer to fit the unit for me?
