nano or shuffle..?

Featured Replies

which iPod would people recommend out of a 1GB clip style iPod Shuffle for

Shuffle for ease of use at the gym.

Nano for a better menu system if you have lots of albums on there and spend time hopping manually from one artist to the next or browse a lot to see what you've got on there.

If you have few albums and play/skip at random the shuffle is for you.

The shuffle will be a lot like your head unit is to use, where the Nano will be more like your bro's (in terms of what you see on screen etc.)

I agree the nano is the better ipod, but at the gym you just want a shuffle to play straight through, no messing.

You are only going to need a couple of hours of songs max.

Saying that, i occationally use my ipod video at the gym with an arm strap and it not in the way, you dont really know its there and its fun not knowing what song is going to come next out of the amount it can store, its just a pain if its a **** song whilst your rowing.

row, row "we are the cheeky girls, we are the cheeky girls"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Have a look at the Creative Zen Nano Plus, the 1GB is about £60, it's got the same functionality as the iPod Nano, and it's no bigger than a box of matches - ideal for the gym. I don't know why the iPod is so popular when are so many decent alternatives available - without the software limitations.

There is a very nice looking Samsung product in the cabinet in HMV  Looks similar to the Zen and was cheaper than an equivilent iPod.

we did see a nice looking, small samsung jobbie in one of the generic electrical stores at the weekend.

The nano is better overall, but if you want small, there is a new shuffle out soon that just clips on your shirt like a small tag.

The main advantage the Creative Zen Nano Plus has over the iPod Shuffle is the fact it has an LCD display and a menu-driven operating system. Plus it's not made by Apple ! :D

well, i've given into the marketing - i'm currently charging my 2GB iPod nano :o

Good luck with itunes, you will need it. For some it works fine, and others it just doesnt do anything. I wouldnt buy an ipod myself, supporting 350 users means we get all kinds of questions regarding how they managed to wipe their ipod and lose all their music. Nothing to do with work though, just questions on the side.

I agree itunes can be a pain to pick up, but by clicking the manually manage music tick box. it works in the same was as dragging and droppin in windows.

Then you cant wipe your ipod usin the sync feature.

NEITHER - PSP with a 4GB card :D
