Newcomer Octavia fan says Hello

Featured Replies

After 8 years of Octavia-ing, I've just found you!

I'm on my third Octavia - first a new 1998 TDi90 GLX hatchback, petrol green - my favourite car ever! which did 230,000Km without a hitch, before it got trashed at the beginning of July this year. Heartbroken.

Then, in between times, I flogged my wife's Felicia Diesel for a

2002 Octavia TDi90 S Break, which I don't really enjoy so much, as it seems less 'fluid' to drive - good car for a family break, though.

And to replace the old green one, I picked up a second hand 1999 TDi90 SLX hatchback, nautic blue this time - unfortunately, buying second-hand cars here - I live in France - is a dodgy business at best, as they don't seem to be desperately careful about maintenance or parts replacement, etc... Result is that the SLX swings dangerously at the back. I even found myself the wrong way round on a roundabout one day! Not used to that from an Octavia. Tyres are OK, so I think it'll be shocks or alignment. Cheezemonkhai here came up with that, and it sounds right to my not-very-tech ears!

Got work to do, and it's good to have found a forum which looks like it's going to be a good place to be!

All right, just because comparatively mine's a self-propelled traffic jam... But I do get to play on German motorways quite a lot! :D:D:D
