Fabia 1.2 Silverline VAG-COMM's Additions

Featured Replies

Please Bear with me on this one.

A couple of friends at work have VW Golf GTi Turbo's and through the Comm tool have made modifications to how the car functions (is that the right terminology ?).

They have activated the central locking to lock at > 8mph, on engaging reverse gear the rear wiper cleans the rear screen etc, etc, etc.

What i would like to know is what are the common mods Fabia owners have done, is it an easy operation, can the software the Golf boys use be used or do i need Fabia related ??

Is it easy to do, i have a lap top ??

Iam just thinking of mods for safety as the car is used by the wife and to carry the kids in.

Sorry if confuse anyone, but this Comms bit was all new to me.

Thanks in advance

Mark..

You can set the courtesy system to lock the doors the same as the VW and when you take the key out of the ignition unlock again, the Fabia already wipes the rear screen anyway. Whether or not you can use the same software, i should think so, they all use the same bits, but I could be wrong. Other things you can adjust are, for example, the power steering, you can make it lighter or heavier to your taste. Amongst other things.

Mark, read this thread for more information.

Denis thanks for the link. Read through it and what i would like to do the following :-

Auto-locking at 8-10 mph (anti-hijack feature), rear wiper sweep on engaging reverse gear and possibility of adjusting the time on the heated rear window and interior lamp.

What would be the next step for me ?

Is there specific codes i now need ?

Just tried the Wifes Fabia (2003 model) and the rear wiper does not sweep on engaging reverse.

Sorry for being a pain.

Mark..

The wiper should swipe in reverse - only with front wipers on though...

Try doing searches in the following forums for codes etc...
