THe elegance has FSIII doesn't it?

They would require new calipers and all.

No, the 1.8T has 288mm discs and associated calipers not the 280mm FSIII setup.

Eddy,

Take it from FSIII to 312 would be a full kit, at which point getting better pads seems a better way to spend the money.

Yes FSIII requires the full kit AND new hubs.

312mm upgrade is a must if ur remapped. :D you have about an inch clearance on 16"elegance alloys. better off wy 17's.

Well, I noticed a big difference. On a completely dry road with 225 tyres I can get the abs to kick in. The 288s never did that!

StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades

It helps to explain how brakes work.

Simplisticly, if the pads are up to it then the next problem is heat & that manifests itself by killing the fluid but we all know that.

If you have stock pads they are never up to enthusiastic driving, If you fit better pads the extra heat will kill the fluid.

As an initial idea if you dont want to spend too much fit something like DS2500 pads & dot 5.1 Fluid. That should give a noticable improvement over stock brakes. If your hitting the ABS by then its the tyres that are the weak link

One of the main functions of bigger discs is to disipate the heat, hence the reason you need bigger discs for constant heavy braking which apart from on the track few of us ever achieve

With calliper selection look at pad size as well as no of pots, the AP 4 pots have pads 25% bigger than the Brembos, hence the reason I went that way but I doubt it would be worth it behind 16" wheels

Godspeed can get AP 6 pots with 335x32 discs behind std 17" vrs wheels if you want the ultimate brakes. I went for the 4 pots, had them about 3 years & theyve never let me down.

Don't bother with the vRS 312mm discs & calipers, give Godspeed a call:thumbup: !! 325mm two piece discs with 4 pot brembos for a gnats **** under a grand is bloody good value:thumbup: !..And is alot better an upgrade for the Octavia.

I run AP Racing 6 pots [bright red!!] with 335mm two piece discs [only

Absolutely unreal, and for the money you just cant beat it!!  Possibly too good if anything as you can get the ABS kicking in at over 140mph if you stand on the brakes suddenly....not advised though!!!!!!!

When I get chance I will put the pics on of my car, brakes & wrc style front bumper etc...

That can be fixed, just fit slicks!!
