Took the TDi fabia 2000 reg into the nearest Skoda dealer for a full service and MOT. The car has done 70,000 miles and the only thing that has gone wrong with it has been the steering angle sensor in all the time I have had it:thumbup: .

She passed the MOT without a hitch and they said that they did a more thorough service than usual and that was reflected in the cost of

Not sure about the suspention Fabtdi, but I had issues with my paint and unless its really bad I dont think a respray would be necessary.

Have you tried polishing the scratches out. Swissol do a range of cleaner fluids that do a great job on scratches. I had some deepish surface scratches on my rear door and bumper (where a car had scraped passed) and normal cleaner fluid and swissol wax sorted them out. You can only see them now under stong sunlight from a certain angle. I was amaized. They do stronger fluids as well but recommend that if you use strong fluid you then use medium and them normal.

Im sure you can get other mechanical repair fluids to bring the paint back as well.

Cheaper than a respray :D

Thanks for the reply Madjak,

I should have given more info on the condition of the bonnet. It is really dull in patches like the pain is no longer there, and there are "spill" lines like someone has left an icecream melt on it (soz the best I can come up with:O ).

Every other panel on the car is fine? all it needs is a damned good polish. The bonnet on the other hand has got me baffled. Could it have something to do with the cat's fur, lint or whatever they call it etc.?

Yeah it could be something thats come off the cats, have they been sick on it. I know that cats do that from time to time?
