Central Lock, how should it work?

Featured Replies

I think that my central lock has a prblem.

It's programmed to first open the drivers door and after (clicking one more time the remote) all the other doors open.

My Octavia only opens the other doors after opening the drivers door if i "double click" the remote, is this normal??? Wich leads to 3 clicks to open all doors ...

I think it was supposed to open the other doors with only one more click, fisrt click opens the drivers door and the second one opens the other doors, isn't this right?

Thanks for your help.

Mine opens all doors on one click. I know it can be programmed to on first click open driver's door and on second all others, but three clicks - something is wrong.

It took me a while to get used to it but if it bothers you get someone local with Vag-Com to change it (simple job, I think!)

If you have Maxi Dot you can change it yourself.

Of course I wouldn't expect you to know that Steve!!!

I do have maxi dot and would prefer not to have the double click for all doors thing. Is the procedure in the manual or is it some hidden process that you might feel like sharing ;)

Yes it should be in the manual.

It's under conveniance IIRC

Sorry for asking but what is maxi dot?

Are saying it can be programmed for double click or single click for the others door opening after the drivers door opened?

Yes, that's Maxidot but only 2007 models have that option (change locking) on Maxidot. It means cars produced after 09th of June 2006.

That explains it, mine is from May 2006

My car is a '2007'. Just been reading the manual and all I can find is a mention that the dealer can activate the function.

Oh and I don't see a 'convenience' section or heading anywhere.

I think it's under Comfort in the Maxidot, not Convenience.

This surely is right - 2 quick clicks will open all the doors. But if you delay a moment, are you then back to start, hence the 3 clicks?

Thats what I was thinking.

Dont press to quickly ie press once - breath - press again.

I was double clicking like i was using a mouse when I first had mine and it never worked. Take your time and it should be ok.

The problem is that i open the drivers door with one click and after if i need to open te other doors i need to double click othserwise they don't open

my 03 superb's a bit like this. click click opens all doors. click click doesn't....the anti hijack's quite cool but a bit of a pain, i'd like a doubleclick to open option really...

That's the way mine works, your clicks need to be fairly close together, you can't open the drivers door give it a minute then click once agin to open the back doors / boot. It would need to be a double click again.
