fabia tdi cruise control-whats the cheapest way?

Featured Replies

To fit CC to the Octavia tdi is fairly easy (according to my research at least) but it seams much harder to do with a fabia tdi. Has anyone found a cheap way of doing this mod?

I believe K (our resident CC expert) is still working on a cheap yet effective solution.

A VW dealer in Ayr are quoting

If that is the case, then that should be considered a bargain. K offers it for

Fit disabled hand controls and then you can hold the throttle on with your knee!

Sorry will get my coat!

Fit dual controls and you can ask your passenger to keep it at 70mph...

Let me escort you out ;)

I seem to remember that the difficult part of fabia retro-fit was wiring the connector boxey thing to the ECU. The petrol engines do not have this pre-installed, whereas I thought the diesels did. If I'm right, then retro-fitting cc to a diesel won't be as hard as retro-fitting it to a petrol.

OTOH, it might have been wiring from the stalk to the connector boxey bit which was difficult, in which case you are still stuffed.

Sorry.

yes i am currently working on a kk fabia pacage just a few things to sort out and i'm there and the problem is indeed the ecu link wire all fab models are fitted with the wire from ecu to bulkhead connector but you just can't get to it watch this space it WILL be offered soon.
