Cambelt Change

Featured Replies

I'm about to need to change my cambelt, not that far off 60k miles since the last change (is old car, and don't really care what they say about the 80 or 100k things).

From reading various postings it would seem a good idea to change the pre-tensioner and the water pump at the same time. Is there anything else I should look for/at?

Also what sort of price should a garage be charging me - last time I asked they wanted about 600 quid?

Finally anyone know how difficult it is to change the cambelt yourself - I've got the haynes manual, but anyone know where I could get the skoda workshop manuals from?

Cheers

Dave

What   .

Jabbasport only charge around

I'd say nearer £300 from the dealers including water pump and tensioner.

If its out of warranty I'd be heading to an independant myself for around £200 odd.

I paid
