crt monitor distortion

Featured Replies

Switched my monitor on yesterday and it looks like its been attacked with a magnet at all four corners except no ones been near the thing, tried degausing but its not having any of it.

Any ideas whats wrong with it or should i just tip the beast (22" crt) and move to a 17" tft

cheers

Check for pin-cushon distortion. If it's not that,, then it's almost certainly the guns, so it's TFT time.

There should be an option in the menu to adjust the geometry. As already said the pin-cushion is most likely target. Set the monitor up and if it forgets again chances are the internal memory isnt working right.

you know something

went home last night and switched it on and it was fine again

How strange

Thanks anyway though, looks like i dont need to buy a tft after all.

Probably a de-gauss sorted it, many CRTs do this every time they are switching on.
