Vrs Mk 2 Suspension

Featured Replies

Hi all

Having done over 20K miles in my VRS I think it is time for a few tweeks.

Has any one lowered and up rated the suspension yet, if so details would be appreciated.

I'm also thinking of up-grading the exhaust, to give it a bit of a voice, any reccomendations ?

Thanks

Oh and just so you are aware, skoda UK have been known to read these threads it is alledged that warrenties have been invalidated due to what was said on here.

Upgrading your suspension is unlikely to affect your warranty.

It's only if any modifications you make cause a particular problem that it will not be dealt with under warranty.

If you get a good suspension set up you are unlikely to cause any other problems anyway.

I'd fancy changing my suspension purely for cosmetic reasons so it sat a bit lower. In terms of ride and handling it is perfect so I don't really want to spoil it.

I have an 2006 Elegance, with the sports suspension on 17" Alloys. It already looks lower - not sure if its to do with the suspension or the larger alloys fit the arches better.

May I suggest getting 18" rims - probably cheaper and easier then replacing the suspension struts?

The larger alloys don't make the wheel (rolling radius) itself any bigger as you have lower profile tyres therefore the gap between the top of the wheel and the wheel arch will remain the same whether you have 16", 17", 18" or 19" wheels on.

Also, getting some decent 18" wheels which would probably cost between

Don't forget to tell your insurers; any change from standard can cause expensive.

Sport suspension is slightly lower than standard.
