As a serious point, GNU/Linux is really nice, but only when you know how it all works. Until such a time it is a right royal pain in the ar*e and not at all as easy to use as the OS you are familiar with.

However if you were to give a set of people each OS who had never used a computer before I think the end results would be similar for each.

Well _I'm_ happier, thanks Mark - long term, whether it stays on or gets wiped by a.n.otherix, or back to Windows, time will tell. It's got to be worth some more experimentation, anyway, I suppose.
