Tyre pressure monitor

Featured Replies

TPM warning came on this morning on the way to work but can't see anything wrong with my tyres,

had 2 new rears fitted on Saturday and havent checked the pressure / reset the TPM since having them fitted and was wondering if this might be the cause?

Anyone know how sensitive it is and if its anything to worry about, might try and get to a garage and check the pressures on me lunch though

Perhaps the pressure has dropped enough to register due to the colder weather.

I thought about this as I did have frost on the windscreen and also it was about 1.5 degrees this morning which is a lot colder than it has been but didn't know if this would affect it.

- Also if I turn the ignition of and on the warning is still there, but bienng the first time it has come on I don't know if it stays until you reset it?

Don't you need to set the TPM after inflating the tyres, and therfore also after putting new tyres on. I mean how would the TPM now the rotations have changed due to new tyres rather than a lower pressure?

I thought about that one as well, its just the new tyres went on on saturday and the TPM has only omplained today and since I have covered over 100 miles since getting the new tyres I thought it should have come on sooner...

Might just try resetting it then checking the pressures and see if its happy with that

I would do, don't forget the thing only works on the ABS sensors, so when warm your new tyres may have been just inside the limit, and the temp drop made enough difference to put them just outside.

I would go around check all the tyres and pressures then set it and see what happens.

Same thing happened to me - Two new tyres fitted and one day later the TPM system decided to bong.

I just checked tyres and reset the TPM, all OK now.

I think it must have been the tyres, havent check the pressures yet but car feels ok and visually the tyres look ok, reset the TPM and hasn't gone off again
