so do i need 2 get some megane wiper arms?

lol no. Search and you'll find they actually do. Bit late to ask that question though if you've bought them already

You'll be fine.

If you bought the Bosch Wipers from Renault they will be a straight fit - 2 min job.

Here's a copy of a post I did a few weeks ago; I hope it helps.

"Having started this thread I thought I would add to it having followed the aero-wiper threads with interest over the past few weeks and eventually bought and fitted some to my Furby yesterday.

Having read the threads and looked at various websites for types/sizes of wiper I decided to stick with what I know, that is Bosch, but of course wanted the flat blade aero wiper. Bosch do the standard and super wipers but they are traditional in design. Their flat blade wiper is the aero or aero-twin that can bought in, say, Halfords BUT these are only for the likes of the latest Golf/Polo/Ibiza etc that have specific ‘aero’ wiper arms (none of which I learnt will fit on a Furby).

I looked up Bosch websites and found that aftermarket aero wipers, which will fit onto traditional hook-ended wiper arms, are freely available in Europe but not UK. I rang Bosch GB and spoke to their technical department. Bosch aftermarket aero wipers were due into UK this summer but the release date has been put back to nearer Christmas, or later (?); the difference is in the sweep of the wipers with Left vs. Right hand drive vehicles, so the fitting clip has to be the right way round!

The solution seemed to be at Renault, with positive reports being given of using their flat blade wiper set for a Scenic I. These ARE Bosch Aero for a RHD sweep and as blades well recommended BUT I had issue with their size for a Fabia, the driver’s at 24” being OK but the passenger’s at 16” being short and leaving a noticeable portion of the screen unswept (compared to the standard 19” passenger’s wiper).

I spoke to a local Renault dealer who was most helpful as Renault are promoting flat blade conversions for most of their older cars. Because of the sizing issue they got a selection of their wiper sets in, and I went up to them to compare. The details of these are:

Part no; 77 11 236 179 for Scenic I – 600/400mm (24/16”)

Part no; 77 11 236 178 for Megane II – 600/450mm (24/18”)

Part no; 77 11 236 177? for Laguna – 600/500mm (24/20”)

All were priced at £35 inc VAT. I found the 20” passenger wiper just ¼” too long as it fouled the screen pillar when parked, so settled for the 18” one that gives only a slight reduction in the swept area on the passenger side.

I therefore bought the Megane II pack and believe that this gives the best result for a Fabia. Additionally, knowing the lengths and pairing of the Renault packs I have been able to order a pair for my other car and it may well be that the Megane II pack will work on an Octavia.

Finally, the Renault dealer I used is Waters in Letchworth (Herts) on 01462 673850 and ask for Michael in Parts – he was most helpful and will gladly get more wiper packs in for anyone else.

Now I just need it to rain !!!!!!"

Well after having the Renault aero's on the Furby for a few months now i thought i'd try them on my better half's CTR...... Guess what..... They fit like a glove. Called in at the local Renault dealer to pick up another set for the CTR so now have them on both cars....... Plus, i think i might have just started a new craze in the CTR owners forums with these things!!!!! :D :D :D

errrr whats the difference then, excuse my ignorance but am sure someone will get pleasure out of telling me anyway

Check this website out. WIPERBLADES.CO.UK : The UK's Premier Online Store

You can get retrofit aero/flat blades for loads of cars. Don't know how the price of the blades compares with the Renault ones though.

I ordered some bosch aerotwin ones from there last week. They arrived today and fit perfectly. Cheaper than going to renault too.

they spread the pressure more evenly as they are a moulded floppy blade, not a metal frame with a blade attached every 6 inches

I can say that having them on my Astra company car for the last 80k, they are still working perfectly with no juddering, squealing or streaking

I fitted some mk5 polo arms and blades on my 20vt ibiza and they are excellent

Well it appears i've started something on the CTR forums........ One of the forums has people wanting to know about the mod......... The other one seems to be taking it like some weird kinda witchcraft not to be trusted.   They really aren't too sure!!!! Something about not putting them on the car that they were designed for, and they're not what they cracked up to be etc...... I've just reminded them of the fact that the new Civic has them fitted from new!!!! So i'll duck and take cover now. ;)

Cheers

Dave.

My Renault aero wipers have started to judder and squeak

kud u spk inglsih plz!

My Renault aero wipers have started to judder and squeak

get some good kitchen cleaner and give your screen a good scrub

it's probably got diesel or engine oil all over it from some dirty old banger thats ****ing it all over the road

I'll give it a go next time I clean it. Cheers

This can happen to any wiper blade.

Use some decent screenwash and clean the blades with a piece of kitchen roll wetted in vinegar. Don't use an abrasive kitchen cleaner like Cif.

In the absence of vinegar a handy/baby wipe works well or just lick your thumb and forefinger and run them along the blade. You will be surprised at the amount of dirt that has collected on the rubber.
