4WD vs 2WD

Featured Replies

Not necessarily They will only be quicker in the 0-10/0-20 if at all.

I guess it takes immense self restrant to be able to get 400 hp to the road in a front wheel drive car. I just envisage constant wheelspin from the start and with each gearchange...

Weight distribution is critical. I can get the MR2 off the line quicker in the wet than the Fabia or the Omega will launch in the dry.

Weight transfer is also critical. Dragsters are set up specifically to load the rear tyres on launch.

I forgot bengines wagon and goochis were on identical tyres and suspension.

My 4x4 used to lurch on accel, it got slighlty quicker when i dropped it, same for RS, although now it's screwed as I've stiffened it a bit too much and the gritters are out... So off the line is pants, but show me a bend :)

hehe nearly went straight on tonight blasted roads.

AWD has pros and cons, I don't miss mine at all, but if I 300+ I'd miss it about this time of year.

Another example...

So R32 has 50hp more and faux 4x4....... ;)
