Flatblade Aero Wipers - Information needed

Featured Replies

My Octy has Flatblade Aero Wipers at the front and at the back. I'd like to know do they last longer then classic ones and what would be the price when the time comes to change them?

Thanks

I fitted MKIV golf aeros to my Octy I.

What I would say is that they are about £18.99 for a pair of blades in halfords for either the aero or non aero versions (bosch branded).

They last a similar time, maybe marginally less (I am not convinced), however the wipe is massivly better too.

If you are wondering which to buy, your only option is aero blades unless you want to change the wiper arms as the two blade designs have a totally different fixing mechanism.

I've just bought some replacement aero wipers from the dealer, local spares place can't get them yet and they cost nearly thirty quid IIRC for the two front ones.

They lasted 27 thousand miles and 15 months, I think the north east of england gets more rain than portugal though!

My dealer replaced mine at 1st service and charged me !! they said it was part of the variable service ?

I'm not using them again service was £285 !!

Anyone know anything about the wipers from Lidl ? Apparently they cost

At £1.99 I don't think they will last like OEM wipers.

Mine have been on the car for 20,000 miles now and are still going strong.

I can't believe a dealer would replace them @ first service, were they shot to pieces or something?

Haven't been in to check, but my informant said they were exactly as per the Halfords boxes.

Still on my original set and working well 39K on the Clock. Two years this Chrimbo

Replaced mine after approx. 18months at a cost of approx.
