Inspection Light....

Featured Replies

Just wondering if 8500 miles is normal for the inspection light to come on, if not what could of caused it?

Looking forward to your comments.

Cheers

Is it a PD100/130?

If so then you will be on Fixed servicing at 10k miles and/or annually.

They are notoriously unreliable because dealers don't set them during PDi. Take it to the dealer and ask them to align it properly with the computer and not by pressing the dash button.

the inspection light wil come on when the vehicle is 1 year old from the date of the PDI if set correctly as VRStu says

true, this is what mine did.....

edit: I'd had four services by then! lol....

just press the trip computer reset button on the dash board for 10 secs with the ignition on iirc and it'll disappear :)

Yes it will but it won't correct the interval will it!!

Which is why I said take it to a dealer and have it setup properly by a VAS computer.

 yes listen to Stu, he knows more than me. I just know that every 10k my car needs a service so I remember to take it whether there is a spanner or not :)

Hey Stu, It's the RS 130, I'll have a word with the garage in the next few days and get them to plug it in for me. Thanks for you advice and top marks to your web site.

Thanks.

They will probably kick and screem and then try to do it on the dash but be persistant.
