Top speed in Fabia

Featured Replies

Just out of interest was wondering what anyone has managed to pull in there furby, top end on a cool night like tonight last year I managed past 150!

Id like to add not repeated as fear of blowing the beauty up..

I'm surprised. I thought it might have exceeded the speed of sound.

Steve

At 150 beleive me it felt like it was about to break the sound barrier:) A freind was checking the clock as I was too busy looking at the road, childish behaviour I know but thoruoghly enjoyable as a one off test..

Ive managed 130mph standard and only 125mph remapped :o

Congratulations!

Bear in mind the speedo in the Fabia has at least 10%+ overead especially at higher speeds. This means when you get caught doing it again they will only book you for doing abot 130ish :thumbdwn:

But then again, we don't know what stickers were affixed to the vehicle. With the right combination, 200mph should be possible!

125 remapped?? That seems a bit low, mine was the opposite it struggled to hit 130 pre map post map it literally tanks after a ton.

As quoted not something I do on a regular basis, its the torque that I love most and this can be tapped in any gear. I would suggest if you are going to go for a top speed run pick a motorway in early morning then:

a) Its a lot safer - for you and others

B) your less likely to get caught

c) If you do get caught - they will look more favourably on it, risk assesment after all!

Dodgy turbo (apparently). Cuts out at 125mph each time :)

Fairly Fast on a runway early last year :D

~145 mph on speedo, 132 mph on Road Angel.

Had turbo cut out on me last week at 130 mph, dealer checked everything (they said by law they weren't allowed to replicate those speeds  ) and found nothing wrong. I think it was because it was over a few miles and not just hitting 130 or so and then backing off after a bit?

Its interesting that yours has been done by Revo aswell :rubchin: At least you got 5mph more than me before it cut out lol. Does it do the same when you rev it to ~5k rpm in 4th?

125mph on the speedo. But mines not a vRS, just a standard PD100. It would absolutely not go faster than that, and I never ever want to do it again! Feels like it was going to fly away.

121 on road angel on a runway last may. never again

130 mph in the vrs i had on demo

i have had mine up to about 120 on the road angel and the back end was a bit twitchy at those speeds so i backed off

i mean the cars back end of course

No never had the turbo cut out before ever. That was the first time :thumbdwn:

135mph in the 2.0 and still had some revs left :D

But not many

128 on Road Angel. Not sure what the clock was reading at the time.

Bit left, don't know how much.

B) your less likely to get caught

I would argue if you are the only car on the road you're more likely to get caught

I would suggest that if you're going to do a top speed run then you don't do it on public open roads with an enforced speed limit. I don't think any of your three justifications would offer much consolation to a grieving family when you stuff your car into someone else at nearly double the national speed limit...

Rob.

140 with plenty of revs to play with, but also with the car making the oddest whislting aerodynamic noises, so I bailed out. This was on German autobahns too. :) I only managed 130 on the runway in CZ due to not being all that much room, and the car was having some front end bodywork "issues"

5000000000000000000000000 mph in reverse.

yawn yawn thread

:wrthless: ............... of your speedo!!!!!!

only joking!!
