Interior Light Bulbs Q's

Featured Replies

What type of interior light Bulbs are in the Fabia?

Are they the 501 Type Bulb?

Thinking of getting some Xenon white light ones instead of the OEM ones. Wanting to replace the ones in the headlining, glove box and ashtray near the gearstick.

Also wanting to run a rear interior light in the car, any guides on how to do this?

Thanks, Chris.

Anyone?

Hi Hellfire,

I'm looking a fitting rear interior lights to my vrs, ever tried fitting a baby seat in the dark?, probably not :)

There is no light from the front interior light so I'm looking at fitting the rear lights that fit next to the grab handles, had these on my Golf mkiv and they also come in the black trim to match the headlining.

Gonna source the parts form vagparts them have a look into fitting, just a case of running a source from the from light.

Cheers

Rear courtesy lights are fitted to elegance models (the estate anyway) so it might be easier to fit a pair of those.

Any ideas on the what types of bulbs are fitted?

had a look, I believe the rear light can be run from the front courtesy lights.

Doesn't the Fabia manual say that they are w5w push to fit types a-la-sidelights? Or was that just me?!!!!

Sorry just spotted this, definitely would be interested to see if anyone will end up retro-fitting rear courtesy lights linked to the front ones, definitely out of warranty in the next month as hitting the 60k barrier ;) so I can get a little more adventurous :)

Thanks Wardy, i'm not electrically minded so i'll leave that for now m'thinks. Thought it was more of a plug and play type thing.

I can do basic splicing of wires etc so I may do the light in the back still :)

No probs - I'm not really an electric person either ;) but this operation doesn't look too tricky really I thought. Might have a go at the weekend...
