2002 Octavia LXi 1.6 faulty intermittent instrument gauges.

:finger: Hello all, I am a new member to Biskoda. Wrong side of 40 now, but having problems with the misses and also the car.

I have seen two other threads on the site about faulty instrument panels, which read similar to my own fault.

The speedo, rev counter, temperature gauge, and petrol gauge, register zero, and then pop back in to life intermittently. I have chaged the coolent temperature sender, on the advice of the Skoda dealer in Swindon, but the problem remains.

I am trying not to go to the expense of ordering a new panel, and would like to know if there are any boffins out there that can suggest a cure. I have considered a sticking relay, or duff ignition switch, or another sensor/sender of some sort. I have tried disconnecting most of the sensors senders when the fault is there, as they all seem to work to an earth connection.

I just love the car, as the fuel consumption is brilliant, and it seems to run on fumes.

The fuses in the haynes manual do not correspond to my model, and are not labeled on the fuse cover. Does by chance any one have a diagram of the internal works of the panel.

Kindest regards Soviet of Swindon
