I've just been given one of these to use for however long i want from my girlfriend's father. I've just opened the box, charged it over night, gone through instructions .....

It's started up perfectly, taking me from one place to another, but in the past 12 hours it's lost all complete signal. It's only 2 or 3 days old...

Is something wrong?

If it will not turn on, or the screen is blank, there is a very small reset button at the back of the unit.

A guy at work has one, his went tits up within a few days, he is well known for killing anything technological.

But pressing the reset button worked a treat.

It runs Linux IIRC

My TomTom Go 700 often needs hard- resetting after being updated (eg speed camera database changes) but otherwise performs as it should.
