Octy vRS battery size and cover part number

Featured Replies

Can any of you guys with a 2001 Octavia vRS please confirm what amp battery you have and also the part number of the black plastic battery cover (this should be stamped on it somewhere)?

I've spoken to my local dealer and the batteries are not listed as model specific - so I want to make sure I get the right one. (In case you ask I don't have one to check against!!!)

Is there a vehicle data sticker in the boot of your car and/or do you have the Service Schedule for your car which will contain the same data on the inside front cover? Failing that, your dealer should be able to access the optional equipment list for your car and decode what battery it was delivered with from the factory. FWIW my car has a 280A (60AH) battery - as described by the code J1L in the list of optional equipment codes on the vehicle data sticker.

Other optional equipment battery codes are as follows:

J0L.....battery - 340A (70AH)

J0R.....battery - 380A (80AH)

J1L.....battery - 280A (60AH)

J1P.....battery - 220A (44AH)

J1U.....battery - 450A (95AH)
