Code for MS402 radio

Featured Replies

My fabia radio has died a death. Someone has offered to sell me one and says it doesn't need a code. As my original one did, & the new one looks identical (MS402), just wanted to try & check if anyone else has one that doesn't require a code. Thanks?

It will need a code if being fitted to a car other than the original car. Normally the car will send the code to the radio when its first powered on, however as the code for this radio is different from your own then the code will be rejected and need to be manually entered, or the ecu reprogrammed with the new code.

Ebay do programs for radio codes that helps you identify the code.

I have one at home which i bought, i will check later to see if that radio is on there.

Who manufactures the MS402 ??????????

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I believe the fabia radio is a Grundig. I have a code for my current broken radio, & I was assuming that its code (same for one generated by software?) would not work?

I looked on ebay, couldn't find the software, but I found some special VW/Skoda keys to pull the radio out. Assuming I need them & I can get them, it'll be my 1st purchase on ebay so that'll be a result!

I need the 16 digit number on the radio to give you the code.

Pm me and i will email you the decoder program.

Its worth a try, have you tried a snapped in half hacksaw blade to get the raio out.

I will sell you a MS402 radio cass with code and handbook for £15 plus what ever it cost to post. Perfect condition, out of my Fabia Comfort. Can send pic on request.

Funfly, make it £14-99 + postage and you're on (I love a bargain, even if its just 1p ;) I'll try and find out how to pm you...

And Mlutton, thanks for your offer of free help, this forum seems great for that. If I can find the pm button I'll pm you, too, as the prog may come in useful one day. And I'll try the hacksaw blade b4 I buy the special keys.

Re taking it aradio out, is it just a case of disconnecting the negative from the battery then a bit of simple wire work round the back of the radio?

It should be an iso connector, so a straight change from one head unit to another, no rewiring required.
